Game studio, founded September 2026

A game studio born a generation ahead.

Better games, made faster, by a small team that works the way the industry will work next.

2 playable versions in 5 weeks

Until recently, anyone who wanted to get a game off the page needed years learning to code, a team and a budget few people had. A playable demo took months. A full game took years. That is why so few people got there, and those who did paid for it with heroic dedication.

The tools of today have shortened that road. A small team can now do what used to take an entire studio.

On September 4, 2026, Nextborn Games was an idea, a plan and a rules document. 3 weeks later, MVP Legends had a live demo, playable in the browser. In early October came its evolution, MVP Legends SRD Tactics, which went from the first document to a test version on PC, mobile and browser in less than a week.

Both versions are in pre-alpha, the stage where the game already runs and you can play the beginning, though it is still far from finished. We still have rules, art, sound and balance to get right, and that is exactly why we opened them for testing: the people who play now help decide what comes next.

The name says what we are: born of what comes next.

Every choice in an RPG has a reason, and it is the same reason that moves people outside of it

Fear, loyalty, faith, ambition, the wish to belong to a group. The characters in our games decide for the same reasons people decide in real life. Our stories use this on purpose: they touch the big human questions, such as power, belief and living together, without taking sides and without saying what is right or wrong.

The hope is that players come away understanding people a little better. And, now and then, understanding why they themselves think what they think and do what they do.

Over 30 years of adventures that never left the page

Paulo Ribeiro, founder of Nextborn Games

I am Paulo Ribeiro, founder of Nextborn Games.

I started playing on an Atari when I was 6. At 12, I was already running GURPS and D&D for my friends and filling school notebooks with adventures, maps and battle systems I made up myself. Since then, creating worlds and rules has never left my life, but all of it stayed on paper. Making a real game called for years of programming I had no way to set aside time for.

Along the way, I studied Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, earned MBAs in Marketing and in People Management, and a postgraduate degree in Education. It was in the classroom and in the market that my interest in how people make decisions became serious study: over the last 5 years, I have gone deep into philosophy, psychology and, above all, neuroscience.

The path so far:

  1. Childhood.

Atari, then Master System, Super Nintendo, PlayStation, PC and mobile.

  2. At 12.

Game master for GURPS and D&D.

  3. 2001 to 2011.

I founded Wirewood Store in São Paulo, a store for geek culture, games and collectibles. For 10 years I ran Magic: The Gathering tournaments and looked after a community that came back every week. That is where I learned that consumption is behavior before it is a number.

  4. 2011 to 2016.

Teacher at ETEC (a public technical school in São Paulo state) and at Universidade Cidade de São Paulo, teaching business administration, marketing, entrepreneurship and finance to thousands of students, from technical training to MBA programs.

  5. 2016 to 2023.

7 years inside the games industry, on the side that brings players in and makes them stay.

    • BlueStacks: I built the Brazilian community and the programs with content creators and influencers, at the start of the creator economy.
    • Game.tv: Head of Operations in Brazil for 4 years, building the local team and the partnerships of an esports tournament platform.
    • Challengermode: I led the Brazilian expansion of another international competition platform, with alliances with organizations, creators and brands.
    • NOTA Club: Country Manager of a social network for gamers, in charge of its entry into Brazil, user acquisition, community and creator relations.

Those were 7 years seeing up close what makes a player discover a game, come back the next day and bring their friends: game marketing, community, influencers, esports and player behavior. That is the learning I put into every game of ours and every project we build with other studios.

  6. 4 years on YouTube.

Content creator for Summoners War, a turn-based strategy RPG, and a school in how a community of players thinks.

  7. 2025.

I founded Academia Neurofinance and took the study of behavior into financial education.

  8. September 2026.

    Nextborn Games.

The classroom taught me that explaining does not change behavior. Practice does. And the safest, cheapest place to practice a decision is a game. Nextborn brings together games, which have been with me since the Atari, and the study of how people work, which kept growing until it became the center of my career.

That is why Nextborn makes RPGs and also custom games. I see the game as a tool, and it works in the places I know well.

In education, as a teacher, I know the size of the challenge: competing for the attention of a student who grew up with a phone in hand. A game holds that attention, keeps students engaged and gives them a reason to want to learn, because they practice what they study instead of only hearing about it. The world changed quickly with new technology, and our education systems have not caught up yet. Updating the way we teach is good for students and for the world they will build.

In business, administration, marketing and entrepreneurship showed me that games are a new way to reach people, and they fit almost any strategy: training a team, introducing a brand, giving customers a reason to come back.

For schools, companies and people with an idea in their heads, we design the game around what they need to solve.

For more than 30 years, the adventures, worlds and stories I created lived in notebooks and around a table with friends. Now they run in the browser, on PC and on mobile, for anyone in the world to play.

5 rules for every game that leaves this studio

  1. Iterative development: a running game before any big decision.

The old way, a game spent months on paper, between design documents, pitch decks and cost spreadsheets, before anyone could play it. We turn that around. Every stage ends with a playable version, and decisions are made by playing.

  2. The game fits on one page before it exists.

Before the first line of code, we write on a single sheet what the game is, who it is for and what people should feel while playing.

  3. The story leads.

When the story and the game's rules do not match, the rules are what change.

  4. Built for PC and mobile.

Most of our games are born working on both, with a tap counting as a click. When a game calls for a specific screen, such as a large tactical map that plays better on PC, it is born where it works best.

  5. Players talk to us directly.

Every test version has a feedback channel, and every comment is read.
